OmniOn Power Delivers High Power Capacity for Demanding Applications with 4,800-Amp GPS4827 Power System

  • High-capacity version of the GPS4827 power system integrates compact, single-phase rectifiers to deliver a maximum capacity of 4,800 amps at -48 volts DC.
  • The new power system is just three inches wider than OmniOn’s standard GPS4827 and provides 77% more power capacity, delivering high power densities for telecom, cable, and data center applications.

With telecom, data center and cable applications requiring more power capacity than ever before, there is an increased need for more power to be packed into existing facility space. To address this, OmniOn PowerTM has unveiled a new version of its GPS4827 power system that provides power capacities of up to 4,800 amps (A) in a single cabinet. This increased capacity is 77% more than the power provided with a standard GPS4827 power system, and it is delivered in a cabinet that is just three inches wider, providing significant power density improvements for customers.

“Our new, higher-capacity GPS4827 power system helps to meet the increased needs for more power in limited space,” said Vito Savino, data center and wireline segment leader for OmniOn Power. “The power system leverages high efficiency, compact, single-phase rectifiers to provide the high power densities and significant capacity increases telecom service providers, cable operators, and data center operators require today and into the future.”

The power system can be equipped with up to 16 power shelves and 64 small, single-phase rectifiers to achieve a maximum power capacity of 4,800A and it can accommodate power inputs ranging from 208-277 volts AC. The expanded GPS4827 cabinet features bus bar positions for up to nine supply and nine return DC cables.

The power system can be seamlessly integrated into existing power architectures to increase overall capacity and can be used in facilities with three phase neutral power distribution.
