Dynamic analog front end BMS that acts as a cell manager or slave BMS. V04246 is designed to easily integrate and to act as a slave for a distributed system generally in high voltage systems. It is based around a 5000V CAN full pack isolation with interlock and redundancies to meet Safety integrity levels. Ideal for the following market applications:

V04246 is part of a family of high performance battery management system (BMS) products and is used in Large Format Battery Systems (LFBS). Cell voltages are acquired by the AFE chip MAX17830 from Maxim and communicated through I2C bus to the controller. The microcontroller is a multiple redundancy device. This DAQ is designed to manage up to 12 cells of any chemistry. The cell temperatures are monitored by up to twelve 10KΩ NTC thermistors for cell temperature. All the battery information including cell voltage, temperature and balancing status for each cell is transmitted through an isolated CAN bus. The DAQ board will send the information only if receiving the querying CAN message. Each board can be configured on a unique address with the 6-bit dip switch. With the isolated CAN bus, the 12S-DAQ board can be implemented in large format battery stack up to 1000V or 450 cells in series.
The balancing function for each channel of 12 cells will be turned on based on the command in the querying CAN message. If there is no CAN communication for 10s, the balancing function will be shut off (if it was on) before communication to the string controller is lost. This DAQ is designed to operate with a String controller such as the V04282 in a distributed system.
