The CA-IS2092A family of devices is galvanically-isolated RS-485 transceivers with built-in isolated DC-DC converter, that eliminates the need for a separate isolated power supply in space constrained isolated designs. The transceivers have the logic input and output buffers separated by a silicon oxide (SiO2) insulation barrier that provides up to 2.5kVRMS (60s) of galvanic isolation and ±150kV/μs typical CMTI Isolation improves data communication by breaking ground loops and reduces noise where there are large differences in ground potential between ports. An integrated DC-DC converter generates the 3.3V or 5V operating voltage for the cable-side.
