YAGEO Group is thrilled to announce the expansion of its isolation transformer product line with the highly innovative PMT6397 series. This new series showcases YAGEO Group’s innovation in packaging design for achieving high creepage distances in compact mechanical solutions. With a top-loaded coil that offsets the core from the pins, more than 17mm creepage is achieved from an 18 x 14 x 12mm package size.

PMT6397 is a push-pull transformer series that delivers up to 3W of power, with 5kVrms isolation and reinforced insulation between windings. It includes the 1:1 and 3:4 turns ratio for the popular voltage transformation requirements of many diverse applications. It complements a full range of Push-Pull transformer solutions that offer functional to reinforced insulation, 1.5KV to 5KV electrical isolation for industrial and automotive applications.

The market has responded well to our platform innovations, and we are delighted in particular with their implementation in automotive applications. However, with the increases in battery voltage, as well as increased creepage distances, higher rated voltages are required. The packaging style and the segmented winding design of the PMT6397 series have a rated voltage up to 1500Vpk, based on the partial discharge test method. Further information is available in our white paper “Partial Discharge Explained” to better understand how this test method is used to define the voltage rating of an insulation barrier.
