Bel Fuse’s 3PH-EV Series Distribution Transformer is Powering EVs
Bel Fuse Inc, a leading global manufacturer of products that power, protect, and connect electronic circuits, is launching the 3PH-EV Series, a three-phase distribution transformer in the Signal Transformers product line, power-rated from 45KVA to 450KVA. Purpose-built for electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, the 3PH-EV Series offers a scalable, reliable power distribution solution for high-demand eMobility applications.
The 3PH-EV series, designed for open frame chassis mounting, features pad mounting capabilities. Their compact enclosures offer environmental protection and utilize a high-quality electrical steel core. The series is available in copper windings or aluminium windings for a lower cost option, and is designed for 60 Hz operation.
Configured with a standard DELTA to WYE and GND, this distribution transformer establishes a stable, grounded neutral on its secondary side. This is essential for the safe delivery of single-phase power and the dependable functioning of protective equipment during fault events.

3PH-EV Series
The 3PH-EV Series three-phase distribution transformers deliver a mechanically rigid, durable solution ideal for fast-acting DC charging stations for electric vehicles. These robust transformers are designed with a DELTA primary and WYE secondary configuration. The DELTA primary ensures greater current balance from the source, while the WYE secondary provides a neutral point for line-to-neutral voltage supply. Additionally, the WYE configuration offers multiple voltage outputs without the need for extra transformers, enhancing efficiency and flexibility.
