Description
The CA-IS352X chip is a digital isolator chip specifically developed for smart meters (IR46). This series features surge protection up to 10 kV and ESD protection up to 8 kV, isolation withstand voltage up to 5 kVRMS, and CMTI up to ±150 kV/µs.
The CA-IS352X chip allows customers to choose between open-drain or push-pull output models based on their application scenarios.
The CA-IS3520 has two forward channels, while the CA-IS3521 and CA-IS3522 have one forward and one reverse channel, as detailed in Figure 7-1. All devices have a fail-safe mode option; the output is high by default when the input power is lost or the signal is lost.
The CA-IS352X devices feature high insulation capability, helping to prevent noise and surges from the data bus or other circuits from entering the local ground terminal, causing interference or damage to sensitive circuits. Simultaneously, high CMTI capability ensures correct transmission of digital signals. The CA-IS352X devices are available in 8-pin narrow-body SOIC, 8-pin wide-body SOIC, and 16-pin wide-body SOIC packages. Narrow-body packages support an insulation withstand voltage of 3.75 kVRMS, while wide-body packages support insulation withstand voltages up to 5 kVRMS.
