PortServer TS serial servers offer RS-232 serial port expansion, making it easy to connect any serial device to your network. Available in one-, two-, four-, eight- or 16-port models, these serial servers combine the inherent benefits of data networking with proven asynchronous connectivity. They deliver powerful, yet simple Ethernet connectivity for all your serial devices.

PortServer TS device servers are ideal for applications requiring COM ports or where TCP/UDP Sockets or multicast functionality is required. All Digi device servers include Digi’s patented RealPort® COM port redirector technology, which makes it possible to establish a connection between the host and networked serial device by creating a local COM or TTY port on the host computer, allowing existing software applications to work without modification.

The ConnectPort TS 4x4 family of device servers provides serial device network connectivity and remote Ethernet switch capability. Supporting multiple serial and Ethernet ports, this product is ideal for medical, utility, traffic, retail and POS, industrial automation, banking and many more applications.

Digi’s patented RealPort® software establishes a connection between the server and networked serial devices, creating a local COM/TTY port on the server. RealPort technology allows almost any software application to work with Digi networked device servers without modification.

Configuration and management is available through an integrated and secure web user interface as well as a powerful Command Line Interface (CLI) option.

The Python® development environment built into ConnectPort TS 4x4 device servers enables application customization. This easy-to-use, universal programming language allows complete control of device connections, data manipulation and event based actions.

The Digi Connect SP customizable serial server delivers a true plug-and-play device networking solution that combines a compact form factor with proven serial port connectivity. It is available with pre-loaded Digi plug-and-play firmware for out-of-the-box serial server functionality, or with a Digi JumpStart Kit for custom embedded applications.

Digi One

Compact serial server

The Digi One SP serial server provides reliable and cost-effective network connectivity for virtually any type of serial device. It features one of the smallest form factors available, industry leading low latency, baud rates up to 230 Kbps and full modem and hardware control. This compact and powerful serial-to-Ethernet solution is ideal for applications requiring simple and easy-to-use data communications.

This compact serial server supports a wide range of protocols using serial tunneling, TCP/UDP connections or Digi’s patented RealPort® COM port redirector for remote native COM port access. RealPort enables existing applications to communicate, without modification, with serial devices over the Ethernet as if they were communicating over a serial cable. Additionally, Digi One SP features modem emulation, allowing equipment designed for modem access to communicate transparently across the Ethernet.

Digi One SP is easy to install locally or remotely. The IP address can be configured using DHCP, ARP-Ping or Setup, an application included with the installation CD that automatically detects all Digi One devices on the network. Users can auto-connect a serial device to a networked server using raw, Telnet or rlogin. Advanced functions can be configured into an application using the web interface.

Etherlite

The EtherLite family of network serial concentrators adds serial ports to an Ethernet network, eliminating the installation of serial adapters inside servers. It offers easy installation and network efficiency and control at a low price per port. Available in two- to 32-port models, the EtherLite can be used in numerous applications including retail/POS, process control, data collection and console management of clusters, routers, hubs, switches, PBXs and other networking devices with console ports.

A single TCP/IP session services the traffic from all ports, unlike the conventional one-session-per-port method. This means less overhead at the host and less traffic on the Ethernet. With Digi’s patented RealPort® drivers, the EtherLite ports appear as local TTY ports under UNIX® and as native COM ports under Microsoft® Windows®. These locally administered ports allow full control of serial ports.

Available in two- to 32-port models, the EtherLite can be used in numerous applications including retail/POS, process control, data collection and console management of clusters, routers, hubs, switches, PBXs and other networking devices with console ports.
